At The Boar's Head - How We Got the Name.

How We Got the Name ~

Our friends had names for their homes such as So-and-So Manor, so I was trying to think of what we could call our home.  "Manor" did not seem to fit our house, so a dear friend claimed it as "The Boar's Head" after the boar's head that is hanging in our family room.  It was the first boar, or animal for that matter, that my husband shot. Honestly, I'm not too keen on having a dead animal's head in my house, but currently we have no man-cave for him to hang it in.  Having been shot near barley fields, the meat from this animal was absolutely yummy.

Life at the Boar's Head ~

Being the wife of a business owning husband, and the mom of now 3 home-schooled children (plus, #1 moved out now 5 yrs ago, #2 moved in with her recently, while #3 and #4 are still at home going to the local community college), so as you can imagine, my life is very busy and full.  What I love about home-schooling is that learning takes place all the time.  There are no "school" hours here, learning is learning, 24/7.  A child's curiosity if not killed/stunted, will always be questioning and wanting to know.

I look back to when my older ones were little and I had no help.  I've experienced a lot over the years and as with most people, have regrets. Especially, the "wish I should haves".  Being in the trenches, it's harder to see what's happening while you're in it and where you are going.  Once the kids are a bit older, you can look back.  Having been there, in sharing my experiences, I can now (hopefully) help someone else.  It doesn't get easier...it just changes. Growth for yourself requires changing, too.

I have many interests and needs.  I need to lose weight, I need to get rid of things to make life a little simpler, I need to work on my spiritual life, I need to reduce stress...  I am interested in all things natural, things that make daily tasks easier, in God and His abundant love for me, the possibility of having a garden that will provide enough food for the family all 12 months of the year (that would be COOL!), Networking and Direct Sales, and other stuff (like sports, crafts, reading...).

I hope you will join me on my journey, and accompany me along the way with comments and notes, sharing your struggles and joys.  :)
